FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS

Heads are made of exclusively processed extra heavy raw hides.  Butcher Block Concept Body (Above Photo of the Wood Blocks) : Each stave is carved-out from blocks of hard wood (invented by Jay Mochizuki 1996) instead of bending the boards like wine barrel staves.  Staves are cut into precision angles for an exact fit and glued together with hi-tech adhesive.  Inner walls are patterned with deep chisel grooves to enhance the sustain (Above Photo of the inner wall). Outer wall is stained and finished with super tough industrial grade clear polyurethane that resists minor scratches.  Custom made hardware: Forged Handle Rings - nickel plate finish,  Decorative Medallions: Solid Brass, Decorative Scrolled Metal Plate: Laser cut plate steel plated with mil-spec anti rust coating, Custom made solid brass ID Tags with serial numbers.  Tacks: Heavy duty taiko tacks imported from Japan.

Mochizuki Taiko Stands are constructed with premium grade solid Red Oak for durability and long wear.  Stands are dyed Golden Maple Color and finished with Tough Industrial Grade Polyurethane. Stands for 1.5 & 1.8 Shaku is the same price but slightly different size.  Please state size of your taiko.
