Our ultra light weight Go Cho Gake is only 23 lbs. (about 35% lighter than most competitors’ Bolt Type 5 Cho Gake). Proportioned identical to the highest quality shime daiko made in Japan. We offer only Go (5) Cho Gake Shime Daiko, which is the highest tone among five different tone levels that are offered by others (Namizuke, 2 Cho Gake, 3 Cho Gake, 4 Cho Gake and 5 Cho Gake). High pitch from Go (5) Cho Gake will cut through the other taiko sounds within the entire group (can be heard by all of the members in your taiko group) for maintaining the rhythm & the beat. If lower tones are preferred, it can be achieved by reducing the tension of nuts.

SPECIFICATIONS & FEATURES
Heads are made from exclusively processed non-bleached extra heavy raw hides for excellent tone and wear. Stitches are machine sewn with UV treated extra heavy cord for uniform stitching and strength (triple row of stitches). Body construction is Butcher-Block technology invented by Mochizuki Taiko in 1996: Each slat is carved-out from large chunks of hard wood lumber that will not crack like one piece hollowed-out lumber. Glue joints are precision cut for an exact fit and glued together with hi-tech adhesive. Body is finally precision turned on the lathe for uniformity and curved walls. Body is finished with tough industrial grade black color polyurethane (hammered finish) that resist minor scratches and provides good contrast for red colored hardware. Custom made hardware are engineered and made of exotic alloys for high strength and light weight. Bolts are curved to wrap around the ring (head) to prevent turning while tightening the nuts. Metal components are finished with industrial grade powder coating to resist abrasion. Wood tone color is dyed and scratch resistance clear coating finish is applied.
Mochizuki Taiko Stands are made with premium grade solid Red Oak for durability and long wear. Stands are dyed with Golden Maple Color and finished with tough Industrial Grade Clear Polyurethane for long wear.
